Treasure Island Road – August 2017

We have our share of all types of roads in Williamsburg: congested interstates, rural highways, secondary and tertiary roads, along with a good number of dirt roads. Most are scenic. Some decidedly so.
Riding up through the trees on Treasure Island Road, heading towards the Colonial Parkway, is a view of acres of crops, and pastures. There are a few houses along the way, but not many. The fence and the green field on the left is beautiful for its simplicity.
Something about the house’s roof, on the right, caught my eye. It is a hybrid. It looks like the front of the house, the A Frame, was the original building. At some later point, a Lean To was added. Asphalt shingles for the new roof overlap the original, creating a black border which sets it off from the sky.
