College Creek Sunset — Late September 2017

In September, as Fall was beginning, I asked my good friends for more than 20 years, Beth and Greg, if I could take some pictures of their backyard as the sun was rising. Their property abuts College Creek, which runs into the James River; and a cool, crisp fall morning seemed like a great time to take advantage of the view. Graciously, they said yes and added that I might want to come back as the sun was setting because the light was different in the afternoon. Taking their advice, I made the trip twice. The above image was one of their favorites. Taken in the afternoon, it shows the long view, down the creek, serene and peaceful.

As the sun sets on 2017, here is to a Happy New Year, 2018.
